On Saturday, June 25 join L’Arche Atlanta at Legacy Park (or virtually from wherever you are!) for Walking Together, an event that brings people with and without intellectual disabilities together to celebrate the joy of inclusive communities and raise funds for L’Arche communities worldwide. Enjoy snacks, music, and a big solidarity walk around the park!
In every culture, people with disabilities find themselves overlooked and pushed aside. L’Arche (rhymes with marsh) is French for "the ark," or a place of refuge. L'Arche Atlanta is one of over 150 L'Arche communities in 38 countries that support adults with intellectual disabilities, united by a common mission to create communities where people with and without disabilities share life together, build relationships, and cultivate places of belonging.
Starting now, L'Arche invites you to take on a #LArche38Challenge to raise money and awareness alongside L’Arche communities and people with intellectual disabilities around the world. (Get inspired for your challenge here!)
Then on Saturday, June 25, we will come together (from wherever we are in the world!) as #OneLArche for a big celebration walk to bring awareness to the joy of inclusive communities.

Option #1: Take on a #LArche38Challenge!
Join L'Arche in bringing awareness to the JOY of inclusive communities by taking on a #LArche38Challenge! Register your challenge here and raise $38 or more (it can be your own donation!) by June 8 to get a Walking Together t-shirt! When you sign up for a challenge, you are also registered for the fundraising celebration walk.
#LArche38Challenge Things to Know
- You do not need to be in Atlanta on June 25 to take on a challenge
- You do not need to have figured out what you will do for your challenge before you sign up
- Need some challenge ideas? You could: swim 38 laps, plant 38 plants, try 38 ice cream flavors, or learn to say “welcome” in 38 languages. Click here for a lot more ideas!
- You can do a challenge as an individual, family (get kids involved!), or group (get your office, church, school, book club, swim team, etc. involved!)
- We will provide you with resources to help you fundraise!

You don't have to take on a challenge to join us for the fundraising celebration walk on June 25 ! Join us either in person at Legacy Park or wherever you may be that day -- Your presence brings awareness to the JOY of inclusive communities!
