Are you looking for a new adventure rooted in community, new experiences, and friendship? We’re inviting you to explore becoming a L'Arche Assistant. Assistants come to live in a L’Arche community, provide support, and share in friendships with Core Members (persons with intellectual disabilities). Assistants find their time at L’Arche to be filled with meaning, growth, friendship, and fun.
Most people who come to work at L'Arche do not have previous experience working with people with disabilities. Assistants come to L'Arche from all stages of life:
As a shift from a previous career
After their formal career
We look for an open heart, a willingness to learn, and a belief in the unique value of every individual.
Live-In Full-time House Assistant
For full-time (40 hours/week) live-in House Assistants, L'Arche provides room & board, an annual salary, generous paid time off, and health, vision, and dental insurance. For more information, click here.
Live-Out Part-Time House Assistant (with paid asleep overnights)
For part-time live-out House Assistants, L'Arche provides a competitive hourly wage and flexible scheduling. The standard work week will be 20-30 hours/week with 1-2 nights/ week being paid asleep overnight shifts. Asleep overnight hours are essentially “on call” in case of an emergency, although emergencies are rare.
