Why is L'Arche Atlanta using Facebook Fundraisers?
We want to make it easy for anyone interested in supporting L'Arche Atlanta to give through their preferred method. Facebook’s system can make it easy for anyone already giving through their fundraising platform to give to L'Arche Atlanta as well.
Does Facebook receive a percentage of my donation?
No – Facebook does not charge any processing fees nor do they receive any percentage of your gift to L'Arche Atlanta. 100% of funds donated through Facebook’s platform are passed on to L'Arche Atlanta.
How is giving to L'Arche Atlanta on Facebook different from giving on your website?
Facebook’s giving platform does not share your payment information with us; you may elect to provide your email and other contact information if you’d like us to follow up directly with a thank-you note or receive further email updates from L'Arche Atlanta. We would love if Facebook donors forwarded their receipt from Facebook to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can properly acknowledge your gift! When you give to L'Arche Atlanta through our website, we save your contact information but do not store your payment information to protect your security.
How does Facebook store my information? Does Facebook pass on that information to L'Arche Atlanta?
Please see Facebook’s help page regarding donations to understand what information they may store after you make a gift to L'Arche Atlanta or any other nonprofit. Facebook only passes on information to L'Arche Atlanta if you choose to provide that, however you can remain anonymous when you donate if you prefer.
Will L'Arche Atlanta issue me a tax receipt for my donation through Facebook?
No – since the gift is technically made to Facebook, Facebook automatically generates a tax receipt that you will receive via email to the email address associated with your account. However, We would love if Facebook donors forwarded their receipt from Facebook to email@example.com so we can properly thank you for your gift!
I gave through Facebook but didn’t get a thank you in the mail or via email, why is that?
It is likely that we did not receive contact information from you! If you’d like to receive a thank you letter, or information on how L'Arche Atlanta puts contributions to use, please forward a copy of your donation receipt from Facebook to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I set up monthly donations to L'Arche Atlanta through Facebook?
Yes, Facebook does allow you to set up monthly recurring donations to L'Arche Atlanta. However, if you are interested in becoming a sustaining L'Arche Luminary, we encourage you to sign up directly through our website so that you are able to fully access all the benefits of becoming a L'Arche Luminary. Yes! We are so grateful that you’ve hosted a fundraiser for us. Here are some suggestions and template language on how to thank individuals who gave to your fundraiser. Since not all donor information is passed on to us and some people give anonymously, we encourage you to reach out and thank people as much as possible. We are happy to send you a packet of L'Arche Atlanta blank cards if you’d like to send written thank you letters, contact email@example.com.
