Next Event: August 12 - David King Album Release Party
Please join us for a L’Arche Atlanta Community Event in partnership with the First Christian Church of Decatur and the CRHP Men at Christ the King Cathedral.
Former L'Arche employee, David Robert King, is set to release a new CD that features some of his favorite hymns. Here's what he had to say about the album's inspiration: "While visiting the L'Arche house one morning, I sat behind the donated upright piano in the corner and starting playing. What came out were ancient and familiar songs that had been stuck in my head for 30 years. These songs came through like rosary beads being pulled through faithful hands. Even though I sang these songs a million times and heard them a million more, I heard and felt them differently that morning. Something about L'Arche brought out these songs in a new way. These were prayers, my prayers, and I want to share them." David independently raised all the money to cover the high-quality production of the album. L'Arche core members also contributed to the recording process. The album will be available for purchase (though not required for attendance at this event!). All proceeds will benefit L'Arche Atlanta.

May Event: May 4 - A Night of Song
A Night of Song with Woodward Academy Choir On May 4, 2017, over 80 people joined with members from the First Christian Church of Decatur and the First Christian Church of Atlanta to hear the Woodward Academy Choir perform a selection of songs that expressed the vision of love and hope that are central to the vision of L'Arche. L'Arche Atlanta Core Member, Corbin McKinnon, made a guest appearance and performed on his bagpipes.
The Woodward Academy Adult Community Choir was chartered to promote diversity and inclusion among all employees and to showcase their talents and gifts. This choir serves as ambassadors of Woodward Academy and beyond. This choir consists of faculty, staff, dining service, and parent community as well. Not only does this choir give two concerts within Woodward Academy, but also performs in places such as local nursing homes, children’s hospitals, and shelters for the homeless throughout the year. This choir will present songs to express peace, love, and community. We were so blessed by their performance.
A special thanks to Ann Edmondson, the Choir's Director, and to James Brewer-Calvert and the volunteers at the First Christian Church of Decatur for their hospitality.
