As a L’Arche community, we are connected to 151 other communities in 40 countries around the world. We’re one big international family of people with and without disabilities unified by a common mission. L’Arche communities in low income countries live out the vision and mission of L’Arche in extremely challenging contexts: natural disasters, political corruption, civil war, large-scale gang activity, violence, and struggling economies. In these contexts, the opportunity to live in L’Arche is certainly the difference between life and mere existence.
We can support communities like these through L'Arche International's Solidarity Financial Aid Fund. Donations made to this fund are distributed by L’Arche International to the communities in the greatest need. Many of these communities rely on this financial aid to function on a daily basis.
100% of every dollar donated to the Solidarity Financial Aid Fund is used to support the international communities in most need. Direct financial aid to L’Arche communities supports day to day operating costs, such as housing, food and medicine. It also supports capital projects to increase the impact of the communities such as the purchase of a house, car, or workshop.
L’Arche Atlanta’s goal is to contribute $15,000 to the Solidarity Financial Aid Fund in 2019.
